Helping Victims

Victim Assistance Coordinators

Our Victim Assistance Coordinators offer specialized assistance to crime victims of misdemeanor and felony offenses throughout the court process. Coordinators provide information, resources and referrals to appropriate service agencies in our community to assist crime victims during the aftermath of the crime.

The Code of Criminal Procedure, Chapter 56 designates specific rights for victims of crime. Our Victim Assistance Coordinators are devoted to honoring those rights.

Our Victim Assistance Coordinators work alongside the prosecution team and work to educate victims about the judicial process and procedures, which include courtroom accompaniment, case status, court proceedings, and assisting victims in preparing for trial. You did not ask to be pulled into the criminal justice process but our Victim Assistance Coordinators are here for you and will help you through it.

To contact a Victim Assistance Coordinator, please call the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office at 936-539-7800.
