Citizen Prosecutor Academy
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office Citizen Prosecutor Academy provides a behind-the-scenes look at prosecution and the criminal justice system. Participants who are selected from a competitive application process will have the unique opportunity to hear directly from subject matter experts at the District Attorney’s Office. Topics typically covered during the program include: the Jury Trial Process, Crimes Against Children, Officer Involved Shootings, Vehicular Crimes, Human Trafficking, Cyber-crime, and more. The program ends with a graduation ceremony and law enforcement panel discussion.
Although the program is offered at no cost, applicants must pass a background check and be willing to commit to attend a twelve-week curriculum on one evening each week. Those seeking enrollment must be at least 18 years of age. Class sizes are limited, so you are encouraged to apply early when the application process opens.
The academy typically meets Monday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., during a twelve-week period. Committed and regular attendance is imperative. If you have additional questions, send an email to: DA.Citizen@mctx.org.
